In the demos of the RoadMap of the VMware portal there is a video on a new very interesting feature, VMware Fault Tolerance, which exploits, as it was intuitive to think, the power of VMotion to replicate a Virtual Machine on another hot online node and then keep it always synchronized from a RAM content point of view. From the video below it is clear how the desktop of the two Virtual Machines is perfectly synchronized, but only one is the active VM (usable) as long as the main one is alive. On occasion (host crash) the copy VM instantly replaces the previous one without giving the user the slightest downtime.
